There’s
plenty to see and do when you visit the Attica area:
Devon
Theatre
Visit the Historic Devon Theatre on West Mill Street in Downtown
Attica. Originally opened in 1932, this small but beautifully
maintained Art Deco era single-screen theater screens first-run
movies in vintage surroundings, but with state of the art projection
and sound equipment. One of its most attractive features is
its multicolored neon-lit triangular-shaped canopy marquee.
Features are shown at 7 p.m. each evening, with a 2 p.m. matinee
on Saturday and Sunday.
Ravine Park
American Indians frequented this area, rich in natural resources.
The ravine provided water from natural springs, marl for lime,
and clay for bricks for nineteenth-century residents of Attica,.
The city became owner of ravine 1906 when local business and
professional men organized to donate fifty-five acres for a public
park. Ravine Park has served as a center for social and recreational
activities for nearly a century. The Attica Chautauqua entertained
many here from 1907 to 1928. Donations, grants, and volunteers
over the years have added a swimming pool, nature trail, bridges,
and other structures improving the park as a valued community
asset. Ravine Park is located on the east edge of Attica just
off IN 28.
